Moab spelled backwards is Baom...

and Boam isn't even a word. Trust me. I looked it up....
We went to Moab last week with the Kanes and we had so much fun! It was the first time that we had left Koy over night but I think he did pretty well, except for burning his hand on the pellet stove right before I left him at my mom's house. Poor kid.
We left on Wednesday and I met up with Justin, John and Melissa in S.L. Then the Kanes took us to eat at In-N-Out burger. Justin and I had never tried it so we were kind of excited to see what all the hype was about. What a dissapointment. J/k! It actually was suprisingly good. To return their favor of taking us to In-N-Out, we took them to Cabellas. Yep. They loved it. I could tell. It was the best thing since the invention of Facebook for them. Ha, ha. (You little Facebook lovers!)
Then we made our way down the road and found a camping spot up a canyon in Moab. I was seriously hesitant about the camping... but that's because I'm terrified of the dark. Really. It's bad but the camping wasn't so bad.
After we set up camp, we went into town and got pizza.
A few years ago, Dan and Chels had us a try a pepperoni and jalapeno pizza that was really good. So looking at the menu at the pizza joint, we decided to get the Rio Grande pizza. This bad boy had pepperoni, jalapeno, green chilis, red peppers, chicken and olives on it.
Here is the bad boy...

This pizza was soooo hot! It was like lighting a match and throwing it into a pool of gasoline. HOLY CRAP!
Justin said he had rockey road hotter than the pizza... I think he's full of crap.

Melissa didn't get a very hot piece... or that's what she says... j/k.

This just explains what John thought of it...

Really, besides it burning your face off, it tasted pretty good. It didn't feel so good in your stomache though.
The next day we did some hiking. We went into Arches and hiked to Balanced Rock, the North and South Windows and Delicate Arch.

Balanced Rock... oh yeah, and us...
Random picture of Justin. Hi.
Delicate Arch

We wanted a friend pic with the arch in the background... that didn't really work...
So we had some old lady take a pic...
... because the boys were asleep. Wierdos.

Then came the most terrifying adventure of all. Gemini Bridges. They are two rock bridges over a canyon of death. Really. Heights are no bueno. This ol' gal almost passed out after the pic. I was getting dizzy. Justin thought it was cool. He would.
The second day we went river rafting which was a blast! The water is much more pleasant than standing on cliffs. The boys did try to tip the raft over a couple of times but between Melissa and me, we have some pretty serious paddling skills... or we are just lucky. We hiked another arch that day and saw some dinasour prints and some indian writing. Pretty cool.
Koy did better than I thought he would. He was too busy playing with his cousins and he didn't even care that we were there. What a stinker.
We had a great trip and we are so happy that we went with the Kanes. They knew all of the fun things to do and we weren't bored for a second. Thanks again you guys!

18 Months

This is a little late but Koy hit is 18 month mark last month. He is so much fun right now!
He weighed in at a whopping 22 lbs. That puts him in the 10th percentile for weight and he's in the 40th percentile for height. He's in the 1st percentile for hair growth. He still hasn't got a whole lot. It's thin and very light... so you can't really see it.
We've finally hit the point where he HATES the Dr. It's really fun. Wow. While we were at his check-up the Dr. noticed that his left eye was turned in a bit... I hadn't noticed and neither had Justin but a lot of other people had. Oops. He does look cross-eyed and looking back at pictures I can certainly tell now.
I took him to the eye Dr. last week but that was pretty much a waste of time. Koy was so naughty! He got upset the second we went into the exam room and it was 30 minutes of pinning him down while the Dr. pried open his eyelids to look at his eyes. The Dr. said the worst part would be putting the eye drops in but nope, that wasn't the worst part. It just went down hill from there. By the time we left his office, my ears hurt from Koy screaming and I just wanted to go home and take a nap. As far as the Dr. can tell, he doesn't need glasses or an eye patch. We are going to wait for another 9 months or so to see if it straightens out, but if it doesn't, he'll have to have the muscle on the inside part of his eye cut and re-attached. Sounds fun. :)
Koy is at a such fun age. He is running around like crazy and talking so much. Some of his favorite words are: duck, side (for slide and outside), Soya (for Sawyer, Melissa's dog. He stands at the back window looking for him a lot.), Buckee (pick-up... it's a little off), there he is (when he finds something... or if you find him), shoes, boots, nack (snack), night night and many more. He picks up and tries to say new words all of the time. The other day Justin was making the bed and Koy looked at the lamp and said, "ball" when he saw the light bulb and Justin said, "No, it's a light." Koy said back, "No, it's a ball." It's mushed together when he says some things but he tries and it makes me laugh.
He is in nursery now and loves it. We have great leaders that let us take him in to play for a while before he was old enough to stay in there on his own and I think it helped a ton because he doesn't seem to have any problems now.

We've gone to the Whittier Center Park and few times and it is by far my favorite park in Logan. No joke! It's so cute and it has rubber mats covering the ground so you don't have to deal with wood chip getting all over everything, or your kid eating the wood chips. Koy was so brave today and went down the big kid slide all by himself. He was laughing so hard when he got to the bottom. He sure thinks he is big stuff.

He likes to wear big people shoes.

He likes to eat pancake batter, but not the pancakes.
Seriously, that's just gross.

He eats his bubble bath... hoepfully it won't make him sick.

It snowed in March and I couldn't get him to walk out in the snow. He just wanted to eat it too.

First full day of nursery. The paper is almost bigger than him.
This is just a cute pic of Koy and his dad. They are so cute together.

Sunday Shoes

It's so cute when a little kid puts their shoes on the wrong feet.

It's HILARIOUS when halfway through sacrament meeting, your husband realizes that he's put your son's shoes on the wrong feet.

Oh Justin. You make me laugh!
