Project Intervention

In April my grandma passed away.
It's always sad to lose a grandparent but
it was kind of a happy feeling knowing that she
got to be with my grandpa again.
She missed him, lots.

After she passed, they were diving out all of the things
she had in her house.
I lucked out and got her sewing machine
and sewing table.

It sat in our house for a few months and I asked
Justin when he was going to help me refinish it.
He then had a "project intervention" with me.
Some hoopla about me taking forever to finish projects or something.
I have NO idea where he was coming from.
Sheesh.
It's not like there are ever any unfinished projects in our house.
Anyway, it motivated me to get the sewing table done.
I went to town on that bad boy and in about a week it was finished.
That's good considering it usually takes me a month or longer to do anything.

I didn't know what color to paint it, so I just picked a
paint swatch that matched my finger nail polish.
It turned out great I think.

Now I just need to practice sewing on fabric and not through
my fingertip like I did last weekend.
It doesn't feel great. I wouldn't recomend it.

Summertime in a Nutshell

The summer flew by at our house!
Here are a few things we did this summer.
It started off with branding.
Of course, it scared the crap out of Koy.

Koy married his best buddy on Memorial Day.
Those two crack me up.
Twue Wuve.

We hit up the dino museum at Thanksgiving Point.
We got to go with cousins and the kids loved it.
You can only look at so many fossils before
you feel like you're going to turn into one though.
It's a big museum.

The zoo called our names and we coaxed
Roger and Sarah into tagging along.
They were so much fun to have there with us
and I think it was a lot more fun for the kids too.
The new bear exhibit is awesome and
we only lost Koy once!

The South Family Reunion was a big success.
It's alway so much fun and the food is 5-star.
Mmmmmmm....
We sent balloons to baby Afton, baby Weston and Uncle Clay.
We love you!

We got to go to the dino park in Ogden with Kayden and Morgan.
What cute kids they are!

Heidi, Jake and Cozi came by for a visit after the reunion.
I could just eat up little Cozi. Freak she's cute!

Justin took Koy on their first father and son's outing.
It was a success. They are such cute buddies.

Our friend Lara went through chemo this spring and
our boys love her. We would go visit during her treatments
and Koy would always rock on the ottoman in her room.
She surprised us with a handmade rocking horse a few months ago.
It was better than Christmas!
They boys love it and it's pretty fun for big people too.

We went fishing and Koy learned how to make
a peanut butter and Nutella sandwich.
He's just wont eat it.

Justin and I went to the driving range with our friends
one night. They are good... actually Stef
kicked our trash. The boys were alright
and me, uh... I need a lot of practice!

We've just played and played and played.
We spent most of our days outside in the water,
riding bikes and playing at parks.
Roger and Sarah gave the kids a huge bag of fireworks.
More than we've ever bought ourselves.
You can't go wrong with boys and explosives.

We added two new babies to the family this summer.
Baby Cooper and baby Deslie. She's so sweet!
Almost makes me baby hungry... almost... ok, not really.
They sure are fun to snuggle!

And that's most of our summer, finally!
