One for Titan

Here's a post from Titan's birthday.
He turned one in March... cough, cough.
I'm a slacker though.
Sometimes I have these plans of doing a great post of things
and then it gets put on the back burner... and then forgotten about.
We do love Titan.
A lot.
He's a mess.
This mom is just a slacker.
So here's one for you T-man!

Here's the munchkin sometime before his birthday.
He has almost a full mouth of teeth now.
Just missing those dang canines.

He begged and pleaded with me to make him a
triple chocolate bundt cake for his birthday.
So, I gave in and made it for him.
Basically, it was the most exciting thing at his birthday.

He snarfed up his little piece and vowed to never cry again.
(That didn't last long.)

These were his favorite toys.
Koy bit one and broke it the second we got in the car to
go over to Emmary's birthday party.

Emmary was sweet enough to share her birthday with her cousin...
and some guy named St. Patrick.

Boy, I can hardly believe it's been over a year since Titan would
scream his head off ALL DAY.
It made my ears feel like they were going to bleed.
The doctor said his reflux would get better or get worse by his 2 week birthday.
It definitely got worse. Yikes!

He sure is cute when he isn't crying and when he puts random crap from the ground in his mouth.

He got to snuggle with Aunt Mindy a few months ago.
I think he likes her.

Thank heaven for little boys.
Koy is a great big brother.

For a while Titan could have taken home the gold
in a corn dog eating competition.
Ready, set... Go!

We love having this little boy in our family!

It's gunna be a long one...

When you walk in the door at 6:30 in the a.m. and
find your 3-year-old fully clothed and putting on his boots,
you know it's going to be a long day.
He had even gotten himself out a waffle and put it in the toaster.

He's not really grumpy... yet. He just thinks it's funny to not smile at the camera.
(He gets that from his dad.)

And of course, the sidekick is awake too...

This mamma already needs a nap...

Katniss Everdeen aint got nothin' on me, yo!

After reading and seeing Hunger Games
a few months ago, it kind of
ignited a fire in me to become the world's
best bow shooter.
It looks easy in the movie and
it also just seems a lot less violent than shooting a gun.
So in my head, I think that if Katniss Everdeen, this tiny little
"16" year old can shoot like a sniper,
than I easily could with 10 years on her.
(Yikes!)

So we ventured out to our friends' house and
took turns to show off our awesome skills.
It turns out my skills aren't so awesome.
The first problem started when I couldn't pull the
string back by myself.
That was freakishly hard so Justin helped me out.
The second problem is my aim.
That seems to be pretty important and
no, you can't just put your eye on the target and hit it.
Hence the reason my arrow hit the edge of the shed
and not the target that is sitting in the right hand corner of
the picture below.
Hmmm...
Also, my aim is so bad that I couldn't even point to the arrow!
I don't think I'll be bow hunting any time soon...

Justin, on the other hand, is a natural.
He'd give Katniss Everdeen a run for her money
or we'd at least hope so because if not,
that would be EMBARRASSING!

Yeah, the arrows in the target, that was Justin's doing...

And the boys played with tractors and trucks. They are cute.

Post-Op Care

K's girafficuss (sound that one out...)
popped a stitch in the back so
we took him to the vet.
Mamma Sue DVM stitched him up and
K-man was in charge of the post-op care.

He carried him from surgery with love...

Put him on the couch and covered his face so he could rest...

Asked him quietly if he was going to be ok...

And jammed his finger up his nose to stimulate his senses cuz,
ya know, that's protocol, right?

Happy Easter...

To all our peeps!

We had a pretty relaxing day today.
Seriously couldn't have asked for more.
The best part was having Justin home all day.
Woot!
The Easter Bunny brought Koy a cowboy hat.
He LOVES it and he's pretty cute in it.
We were pretty lazy before church and then after
church we went for a little drive to Uncle Ron's.
I do have more pics from some Easter egg hunts
but alas, I'm too tired and I'm going to hit the sack!
Here are a few pics. Enjoy!

On our way home, Koy saw some people sitting in the back
of a truck talking, so the boys had to too.

Way Back When...

Our house flooded 6 months ago
and it took us about that long to recover.
Wow.
Justin finished all the trim and what-not in December
but it took me a while to post about it.
Since the floor had to be replaced, we figured we would
do a few other things and changed out the patio doors, hardware,
trim, bathroom sink and toilet.
"We" also thought it would be a good idea to splash a fresh coat
of paint on everything while the floor was out.
We started with the kitchen ceiling... and Justin's
paint duties ended after the kitchen ceiling.
It didn't take long to figure out that putting a
paintbrush in that man's hands was a death sentence.
So, after that night, he did the man stuff and I did the girl stuff... like paint.
And everything got painted. Doors, the whole ceiling downstairs, most of the walls and
all the shelving in the laundry room.
He got to play with power tools.
He was happier than a fat kid in a candy store.
I was mad at him for it because all I did was paint and caulk and paint.
Gay.
I hate painting. Hate, hate, HATE it.
My hat goes off to anyone who remodels.
It can turn the nicest person into a monster.
Too. Much. Stress.
And nothing looks perfect when you are done.
Grrr.
Anyway, everything is done and Justin did a great job with the trim and
putting everything back together.

We put in new back doors with the blinds inside of the glass.
LOVE THEM.
The blinds stay clean ALL the time. It's the best invention ever.
Hopefully they help keep water and bugs out better than
the rotten patio doors that were there before.

The sink is my fave. I could stare at it forever.
The new toilet is Justin's fave. He could ummm... stare at it forever too.
It's amazing what a new commode will do for a marriage.

We opted for a darker floor since we figured we wouldn't be living
here forever, so it would be nice to try it out and we love the way it looks with
the kitchen cabinets.

And, insert a picture of the laundry room here.
It's kinda messy right now soooo.... yeah.
