What can I say?

Ok, so this may be a little bit of a retarded post, but Justin thought it was funny so just hang in there. Justin has been going to Randolph to help Brady and my dad hay for the past couple of weeks. All I can say is it gets so boring here without him! By the time Friday rolls around and I know he's coming home, I get so excited! Well, a couple of weeks ago, I was thinking I would be a sweet wife and I would make him some chicken alfredo when he got home, no matter how late it was. It's really not that hard to make from scratch and he had told me a little while back that I was getting really good at cooking. (He probably was hoping that I would take it as such a great compliment that he would never have to cook Sunday dinner again. Sorry, but that just didn't work. I can see right through him and Sunday still will be his designated day for a while.) It's just so hot and I'm so tired by the time I get home from work, we end up having mac and cheese or hamburgers or something easy.  Anyway, so he got home and jumped in the shower and I fired up the stove and went to cooking. We have a gas stove in our new house and it is something I've never experienced before. It's still hard for me to get one of the burners to light without burning the hair off of my arm. (I know it's not hard but I swear, one of the burners is totally retarded.) Anyway, I had even bought a half a loaf of french bread that already had the butter and garlic on it. (It just tastes better when someone else seasons it...) I pulled a chunk off of the end of that baby and put it in the broiler drawer, and went back to stirring away my sauce and noodles. I hurried and set the table and switched over  a batch of clothes, checked the chicken on the grill and few other things and went to stirring the sauce and I could smell something strange. It took me a bit to realize what was burning and by the time I did, it was too late. I opened the broiler drawer and witnessed the devastation. Here is what my face probably looked like:

Yes, the bread was burned... but worse, it was still burning and it was on FIRE! Not even joking. I didn't think bread could burn like that! I hurried and tried to blow it out and it took like 5 tries! It was seriously not going to quit so I grabbed a hot pad and ran it out on the patio. By then, the house was filled with smoke and Justin was getting out of the shower. I heard the water shut off and he yells "fire!" from up stairs. So he came down we blessed the food and went to eating. He hadn't asked what started on fire but I was like, "Oh! I forgot the bread" and went outside and brought in his garlic toast.
Justin said it was delicious. J/k. He just laughed and laughed. I'm such a retard sometimes but it was so burned I think we could have written our names with it on the sidewalk. Oh well. Live and learn, live and learn...

Hey Sherr, I know I haven't said it yet but Congrats! I'm excited for you...Anyway, do you know what this reminds me of? When we were at boys state and you put the poptart in the microwave still in the package and when the microwave started sparking and the poptart was burnt horrible you put it outside and the cleaning lady ran over it with her cart.

Sherrie! You're having a baby! I can't believe it. Congrats, even though I'm most likely the last one to tell you that. :) Yeah, keep me posted about any jobs openings. I'd definitely be interested. You must work at Harris Research? So glad we can be blog friends. Really, it's the best way to keep in touch.
