I hate to be "hatin'" here... but... today we had an encounter with a lady that really got my blood pressure up... and I have great blood pressure so it takes a lot to do that. (Actually, it's not really "hatin'", it's more of "dis-likin'"... you'll know what I mean in a second...)
This morning I took Justin to campus.
So we're just drivin' along and of course, we hit one of the 15 stoplights between our house and his work. So we are sitting at the stop light discussing... I can't remember what we were talking about, so let's just say we were talking about mini-vans, for the sake of the story...
We are just minding our own business when all of the sudden we are jarred forward. It wasn't a hard hit so we were both kind of confused about what happened. I look in the mirror and there is a mini-van behind us. Yep, she ran right into us... while we were stopped.
So we get out to see the damage and the lady in the mini-van says, "I don't know what happened! Did you go in reverse or something?!"
Really?
Did I put the car in reverse? At a stop light? Because the point is to go backwards at stoplights... wait, it isn't. Ok. So on to the damage-
There isn't really any. Our bumper already looks like crap so the screws from her license plate holder just added a for more little scratches... so really it's not big deal.
That's not what was irritating.
This is what irritated me.
She didn't get out of her van and even offer any insurance information or a phone number... but really, there wasn't much damage so I guess I can let that go.
She got out of the van and blamed ME for the accident.
Then, she didn't even say sorry or anything! Really? I don't know about you but usually if you run into someone, don't you kind of feel like crap and try to appologize ASAP?
Justin and I just stood there starring at the bumper and then we finally decided to pull into a parking lot to talk about things.
We decided the bumper hadn't moved and our trunk still shut fine so everything was ok. Finally, when we were getting into the car again, the lady says, "Sorry and drive safe!"
Oh my word. I know it shouldn't get to me because it is silly and I am glad it wasn't bad enough to hurt anyone. (Although, the first thing I thought was that we were going to get a new bumper and that would have been AWESOME!) I guess I'm mean but I am super dissapointed at how the lady responded. Oh well.

LOL sherrie I love you! you poor girl. I would have ripped off her fingernails! You are too nice! Way to be Christ-like
I hate when things like that happen. It's amazing how mean people can be in situations like that. I guess it's just because they are so scared of what might happen. You always make me laugh. I love reading your stories. I can hear you saying them. I am glad you guys didn't get hurt. It's a good thing that lady hit you (for her sake,) I don't think anyone else would have been so nice. She should have been kissing your feet. I bet she felt really dumb after you were so nice.
Well, when stuff like that happens to me the only way I can make any remote sense out of it is to remember that some people, and more each day it seems, have somehow managed to work their way "up" to where they go through each day with their head up their (insert cowboy lingo here)! It is actually quite amazing! But then again, I think we are all entitled to a little slack when we have "one of those days". It just seems like some people have one of those days EVERY-DAY! lol
Oh Wow! I would have been bugged too! There are days when i truly wonder how people make it through life unscathed! Way to be for keeping your cool!
Ps. Really, though, you should probably stop backing up at stoplights....
