Katniss Everdeen aint got nothin' on me, yo!

After reading and seeing Hunger Games
a few months ago, it kind of
ignited a fire in me to become the world's
best bow shooter.
It looks easy in the movie and
it also just seems a lot less violent than shooting a gun.
So in my head, I think that if Katniss Everdeen, this tiny little
"16" year old can shoot like a sniper,
than I easily could with 10 years on her.
(Yikes!)

So we ventured out to our friends' house and
took turns to show off our awesome skills.
It turns out my skills aren't so awesome.
The first problem started when I couldn't pull the
string back by myself.
That was freakishly hard so Justin helped me out.
The second problem is my aim.
That seems to be pretty important and
no, you can't just put your eye on the target and hit it.
Hence the reason my arrow hit the edge of the shed
and not the target that is sitting in the right hand corner of
the picture below.
Hmmm...
Also, my aim is so bad that I couldn't even point to the arrow!
I don't think I'll be bow hunting any time soon...

Justin, on the other hand, is a natural.
He'd give Katniss Everdeen a run for her money
or we'd at least hope so because if not,
that would be EMBARRASSING!

Yeah, the arrows in the target, that was Justin's doing...

And the boys played with tractors and trucks. They are cute.

Post-Op Care

K's girafficuss (sound that one out...)
popped a stitch in the back so
we took him to the vet.
Mamma Sue DVM stitched him up and
K-man was in charge of the post-op care.

He carried him from surgery with love...

Put him on the couch and covered his face so he could rest...

Asked him quietly if he was going to be ok...

And jammed his finger up his nose to stimulate his senses cuz,
ya know, that's protocol, right?

Happy Easter...

To all our peeps!

We had a pretty relaxing day today.
Seriously couldn't have asked for more.
The best part was having Justin home all day.
Woot!
The Easter Bunny brought Koy a cowboy hat.
He LOVES it and he's pretty cute in it.
We were pretty lazy before church and then after
church we went for a little drive to Uncle Ron's.
I do have more pics from some Easter egg hunts
but alas, I'm too tired and I'm going to hit the sack!
Here are a few pics. Enjoy!

On our way home, Koy saw some people sitting in the back
of a truck talking, so the boys had to too.

Way Back When...

Our house flooded 6 months ago
and it took us about that long to recover.
Wow.
Justin finished all the trim and what-not in December
but it took me a while to post about it.
Since the floor had to be replaced, we figured we would
do a few other things and changed out the patio doors, hardware,
trim, bathroom sink and toilet.
"We" also thought it would be a good idea to splash a fresh coat
of paint on everything while the floor was out.
We started with the kitchen ceiling... and Justin's
paint duties ended after the kitchen ceiling.
It didn't take long to figure out that putting a
paintbrush in that man's hands was a death sentence.
So, after that night, he did the man stuff and I did the girl stuff... like paint.
And everything got painted. Doors, the whole ceiling downstairs, most of the walls and
all the shelving in the laundry room.
He got to play with power tools.
He was happier than a fat kid in a candy store.
I was mad at him for it because all I did was paint and caulk and paint.
Gay.
I hate painting. Hate, hate, HATE it.
My hat goes off to anyone who remodels.
It can turn the nicest person into a monster.
Too. Much. Stress.
And nothing looks perfect when you are done.
Grrr.
Anyway, everything is done and Justin did a great job with the trim and
putting everything back together.

We put in new back doors with the blinds inside of the glass.
LOVE THEM.
The blinds stay clean ALL the time. It's the best invention ever.
Hopefully they help keep water and bugs out better than
the rotten patio doors that were there before.

The sink is my fave. I could stare at it forever.
The new toilet is Justin's fave. He could ummm... stare at it forever too.
It's amazing what a new commode will do for a marriage.

We opted for a darker floor since we figured we wouldn't be living
here forever, so it would be nice to try it out and we love the way it looks with
the kitchen cabinets.

And, insert a picture of the laundry room here.
It's kinda messy right now soooo.... yeah.

He Took Me Out...

And we went snowshoeing.

It was fab and I would recommend it.
We packed ourselves a little lunch from Old Grist Mill
and headed up the trail.

Each of us fell once and we laughed a lot.
The only regret for me is that the guy at the
ORC told us to just wear normal pants.

Justin was fine in jeans but me, not so much.
The back of my pants were soaked and I was FREEZING
by the time we finished.
Luckily I opted out of wearing my leather pants that day or we would have
had to cut those bad boys off.
Thanks for the fun afternoon babe!

On a side note, Justin's parking permit came in the mail yesterday.
As you can tell, he's not thrilled about the number they assigned him...

Hopefully He Doesn't...

Pee his pants today.
He's been so excited to give a scripture in Primary
for a few weeks now.
Hopefully he remembers all
the words... even the ones he can't say right.
